If you are unable to attend, teachers will send home the information. You can come and go anytime between 6:00-7:00 p.m. We look forward to seeing our Matzke families!

Setting up routines sets kids up for success!
One of the most important things that you can do to make your young child feel safe is to establish as much routine in his/her life as possible. Children (and adults) feel the most secure when their lives are predictable. When adults provide environments that feel safe, children learn that they can trust others to take care of them and meet their needs, so they become free to relax and explore their world
1. Eat one meal a day as a family. Any meal will do (breakfast or dinner), and let your kids help with something whether it be cooking or cleaning up. Most importantly...talk to each other...no TV and no phones allowed!
2. Have a set bedtime. Read a story together and talk about the day!
3. Include preparation for transitions in the routine. For example, say, “We have 10 minutes left before we start getting ready for bed. When the big hand gets to the 12, it will be time to put on your pajamas.”
4. If needed, create a visual schedule of your routines for your kids. Let them help create it and show off some of their creativity.
5. Be flexible...sometimes schedules and routines need to be changed, but don't forget to let your kids know when a change might occur.

Title 1 Information
Did you know we are a Title 1 campus?
Title I is a federally-funded program designed to reinforce the basic and advanced skills of students who are struggling in school. Title I is part of the No Child Left Behind Act passed by Congress in 2002, currently following the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) guidelines signed in 2015. A school is selected as a Title I campus on the basis of the number of families within its boundaries who are eligible for free or reduced-price meals. All of our students benefit from the funds!
At the beginning of the school year, parents of students attending a campus receiving Title I funds must be notified that they may request information regarding the professional qualifications of your child’s classroom teachers. Please see the attachment below for details.
