Kuna families

We're happy to see so many of our secondary students return to our campuses every day. We've appreciated your understanding as we've need to adjust our network to the increase in users in our secondary schools, which caused some disruptions that were frustrating for many.

Annual assessments under way

The spring brings with it our annual assessments of reading, math, science and college readiness with the Idaho Reading Indicator, ISAT, and SAT. Please check with your child's school for details.

Kindergarten Registration & By Appointment Visits

If you have a child who will start kindergarten in August (or you know of one), please register here. Registering now helps us plan for staffing.

Our elementary schools are hosting kindergarten visits by appointment in lieu of the traditional open house. Below are the dates and links to sign up.

Principal changes next year at Silver Trail, Hubbard

Please join me in celebrating Ken Lilienkamp (Mr. L to most of you) who after many years of faithful service to the Kuna School District will retire at the end of the school year. I have worked with Ken in all of my 26 years in the Kuna School District. He was a social studies teacher at KHS when I was hired as an ELA teacher and then he became my boss when he was hired as the Vice Principal of KHS. We both have fun stories to tell about one another over the years, and I can't wait to celebrate him by sharing some of those stories with all of you!

Hubbard Principal Donene Standley will take a one-year leave of absence. Donene also has many years of faithful service to the Kuna School District, but unlike Ken, she plans to return to KSD after her leave of absence so I will wait to share fun memories about her until she retires!

We expect to fill both these positions in the coming weeks.

Partnering with the City to expand retail options

One of our goals is to build our partnerships with community groups and we're excited that after more than a year of planning a special project is becoming a reality.

Through an agreement with the school district, the City of Kuna will be creating a new outdoor shopping area on our property around the 4th Street Gym. You can read more about it in this Kuna Melba News report.

There also is an opportunity for our students and community to help build the structures that will support this project on May 6-7 see flyer above for details!
