Socktober

Mrs. Montgomery's class is running a "Socktober" fundraiser this year. They chose to support donations of this clothing item because socks are the least donated item for the homeless. 164 pairs of socks have been donated so far and the Socktober campaign will run until the end of the month.

On Wednesday, October 30th we are asking students to wear "funky" socks and to bring a pair of socks to donate as well.

Information about School-Day

Our school is one of several schools to launch a new secure online portal, School-Day, that will allow families to complete payments and permission forms online. Parents and guardians will be invited via email to view their student’s school-related events such as field trips, sporting events or activities such as hot lunch and yearbook purchases. Parents/guardians will then be asked to complete the required permissions and complete payment (if applicable) via credit card or electronic funds transfer from their bank account. This system went live on Monday Oct 21st. This new portal will remove the risks associated with sending money to school with students, the frustration of lost or missing permission forms, and significantly reduce the amount of paper our school consumes. With School-Day: Permissions & Payments, you will be able to complete permission forms and payments from any web browser using your SmartPhone, tablet, laptop or desktop.

An introductory letter was sent home with your child on October 21st. Use the instructions outlined in it to sign up for a School-Day account at www.school-day.com and connect to your child’s events and activities. The instructions are also included below for easy reference. Our staff will receive training on using this new system on the November 1st PA Day. We are looking forward to our new cashless payment system and to posting permission forms online.
