Dear Families,
Hello, we hope all of our Brewer Middle School families are doing well and excited about the first day of school.
This letter is organized with information regarding the beginning of school and the first nine week grading period - August 17 through October 14.
Thank you for the support and understanding during the 2021-2022 school year.
We appreciate and thank you in advance for the same support and understanding this upcoming school year. The Brewer Middle School staff is anticipating a fantastic year and we are looking forward to having a great year together!

All families of returning WSISD students must complete the online Returning Student Registration process in order to receive your student's schedule in August.
If your child is not returning, please let us know.
Returning Student Registration Process Below:
To complete the Online Returning Student Registration:
Click the link and login to Gradebook/Family Access.
Click Returning Student Registration on the left.
- Do not click New Student Registration for returning students.
- For best results, complete the registration on a computer.
- Proof of residency must be uploaded if the address is changed.
- To view the online registration in Spanish, use a Google web browser. Right click on the page and click translate in the upper right-hand corner.
- Parents of incoming 7th graders should upload updated immunization records. Click here for more information.

About WSISD Transportation
Student Transportation for White Settlement ISD area is proudly run by GoldStar Transit, a national corporation recognized as a leader in the student transportation business and part of the Student Transportation of America family. We concentrate solely on partnering with schools across Texas and North America to ensure Students arrive safe, on-time and ready to learn.
Staff at GoldStar Transit work closely with White Settlement ISD to ensure all eligible students requiring transportation, whether it be home-to-school, special needs, or field trips, are accommodated as much as possible.
Our drivers and monitor/aides receive extensive training, and are regularly evaluated. They also attend on-going refresher training in the constantly changing arena of transportation laws and policies.
We aim to produce an atmosphere focused on compassion with an emphasis on caring for the students who ride our buses everyday.

How do parents prepare their student for the first day of school?
- Understand and follow the arrival/dismissal procedures noted below.
- Bus riders - Ensure your student knows their bus route and pickup/drop off locations.
- Drop off and pick up on time.
- Send school supplies with your student.
- Make a payment to their lunch account, or send money with them to school. https://www.schoolcafe.com/
- Prepare your student for band, athletics, or any other extra-curricular practices.
- Prepare your student for the cell phone and dress code policies.
7th Grade Entrance/Exit for Arrival and Dismissal
7th graders will enter/exit the southeast corner of the building indicated by the circle on the map below
. There are two available drop-off/pickup lanes for 7th grade (arrows) and the wait area (rectangle) is also indicated.
8th Grade Entrance/Exit for Arrival and Dismissal
8th graders will enter/exit the northeast entrance of the building located near the main gym entrance (circle).
There are two available drop-off/pickup lanes for 8th grade (arrows) and waiting area (rectangle) are indicated.
We recommend all families complete the following:
Complete and submit a free and reduced application form.
Add money to your child's school cafe account or send them with money the first day of school.

Returning Band Students
BMS Band Camp is coming up! We are excited to offer band camp to all returning 7th/8th grade band students!
Band Camp is July 27-29 at the Brewer MS Band Hall.

BMS will collaborate with BHS for auditions.
August 30 - September 10 – District wide auditions.

All BMS students will be issued a lanyard and picture ID.
All BMS students will wear their lanyard/ID everyday.

Nurse Hours and Availability
Nurse Karr will be available in person at the BMS front office beginning Wednesday, August 4 to accept the following:
- Medication and medication forms
- 7th grade immunization (shots) records.

Important Immunization Information Below
Immunization Requirements for Students Entering 7th Grade per the Texas Health Department:
- Booster dose of Tdap (tetanus/diphtheria/pertussis) – within last 5 years
- Meningococcal vaccine – one dose on or after the 11th birthday
In order for students to receive their 7th grade schedule at the beginning of the school year, a current immunization record is due to the school nurse before school begins.
Immunizations may be obtained by contacting one of these:
- Private Physician Offices
- Any Tarrant County Health Department, by appointment. 817-248-6066
Important Medication Guidelines and Forms Below
If possible, it is best for all medication to be given at home.
If necessary, medication will be given at school with the following provisions:
All prescription and nonprescription medication and equipment needed for administration of medicine must be:
- Renewed each school year with parental permission slip, and doctors orders.
- Provided by the parent and taken by the parent to the school nurse.
- No medications should be transported by a student.
- In its original, properly labeled pharmacy container with pharmacy label.
- No baggies will be accepted.
- Within date range, no expired medications or equipment will be accepted.
- The pharmacy label and the health care provider order should be the same.
- Placed in a locked cabinet in the nurse's office.
