It's Bluebonnet Season! Texas Bluebonnet & 2X2 Book Lists
Texas Bluebonnet Award is a unique program that encourages reading for pleasure and is aimed at students in grades 3-6. The students keep track of their reading using their reading log. Once they have read all 20 books, they are eligible to vote for the book of their choice. Reading logs are available in the library, students are responsible for keeping track of the books and the log. You can also click here to access the log and print at home:

The 2X2 Committee‘s charge is to produce a list of 20 recommended books for children, age two to grade two. We encourage you to read the 2X2 Books with your child and have them keep track of the books on the reading log, which is available in the library. Students who complete the reading log will win a special prize from Mrs. Geiler! You can also click here to access the log and print at home:

Read Across America
February 29th - March 4th
You're never too old, too wacky, too wild,
To pick up a book and read with a child.
You're never too busy, too cool, or too hot,
To pick up a book and share what you've got.
In schools and communities,
Let's gather around,
Let's pick up a book,
Let's pass it around.
There are kids all around you,
Kids who will need
Someone to hug,
Someone to read.
Come join us February 29 – March 4
Your own special way
And make this America's
Read to Kids Week.
Please join us at Skaggs Elementary School as we celebrate reading together on the week of February 29 – March 4!
