Advice for parents/guardians

You should not be unduly worried about the possibility of your children catching the Coronavirus.

There is no reason why your children should not continue to attend their early years, school or further education setting as normal.

We recognise that some families or children may be planning to travel to China during the forthcoming half term period. If so, please refer to the FCO’s latest travel advice on the website.

Health & Safety

As a school we have been assessing on site health and safety and a few things are now being put in place to ensure the safety of your children. We would greatly appreciate your support with implementing these.

  1. The bottom gate outside the Willow class with be locked on an evening at 3.40pm. This is to ensure the security of those children who may still be on site (after school clubs). If you are on site after this time you would need to leave via the main gate.
  2. The pathway down the side of school which leads from the main playground to the Willow play area is now going to be a walking zone. Signs have been put up this week and children were reminded of this in assembly on Tuesday. We would welcome your support with reminding children they should walk when in this area.

We thank you in advance for your continued support.

The Saxton Team

World Book Day - Thursday 5th March

For World Book Day this year we would like the children to celebrate by bringing in a potato decorated in the style of a character from one of their favourite books. We are also inviting children to bring in a book to share with children from other classes. The theme is 'share a story' so we will be asking the older children to read to the younger ones and the younger children to read to the older ones.

Please see pictures below for ideas...

Maple Lunch Day

Thursday, Feb. 13th, 12:30pm

Saxton, Tadcaster, UK

Saxton, England

Children in Maple would like to invite you to come into school and join them for lunch! The decision has been made that it will be Hot Dogs (accompaniments) and Valentines biscuits for lunch on this day. They would love it if you could join them. Due to limited space in school i'm afraid we can only accommodate 1 person per pupil. Thanks to those of you who have already joined up, there is still time to book if you would like to attend this session the £2.50 is payable via parentpay, where you can find further details.

RSVPs are enabled for this event.
