Mrs. Robinson's Greeting

Hi Families!

Welcome to February and the first day of Black History Month. Black History Month is a time to celebrate the contributions of African Americans in the past and present. This is also a time to reflect on the continued struggle for racial justice.

At Carver, we celebrate Black History month in many ways. Today we celebrated by hosting our annual African American Read-In. Our readers were SFUSD Superintendent Dr. Matthews, Carver alumni Robert Harrison, SFSUD employee Deandre Ball, Carlton Eichelberger from the Boys and Girls Club of San Francisco, President of the Board of Supervisors Shaman Walton, and our special Guest Mr. Stewart! Thank you to all the readers!

I want to hear all about the conversations you had with your babies today after their read aloud. Did they learn anything new? What was their favorite part? Send me an email or text with their responses. I want to share them with the readers when we send our thank you cards.

Many of the books read are available on HOOPLA for families to read with each other. If you need support with how to access HOOPLA let me know!
