ASCA 2015: Spice Up Your School Counseling Program
In June six Vermont school counselors attended the ASCA Annual Conference in Phoenix, Arizona. Four of the six presented at the conference including (from left to right) Bill Scarlett from Central Elementary School in Bellows Falls, Vicki Nelson from Charlotte Central School, Rebecca Lallier and Amy Wheeler from Dothan Brook School in White River Junction. Kara Pawlusiak from Colchester Middle School and Suzanne Francke from Union Elementary School in Montpelier were also in attendance representing VTSCA at ASCA's Leadership Institute and Delegate Assembly.
The conference is a great opportunity for school counselors from across the nation to network and learn from one another. Mark your calendars for the 2016 ASCA Annual Conference: The Recipe for Success in New Orleans, LA happening July 9th-12th. Session proposals are now being accepted.
RAMP Recognition
Congratulations to Champlain Valley Union High School's school counseling department for being the first school in Vermont to be recognized as a RAMP program. On June 30th Vicki Nelson accepted the award on behalf of CVU at the Recognition Dinner in Phoenix.
