New to Twitter Chat?
A Twitter chat is a public Twitter conversation around one unique hashtag (#dsd2chat). This hashtag allows you to follow the discussion and participate in it. Twitter chats are usually recurring and on specific topics to regularly connect people with these interests.
Most Twitter chats are brief like the one we will attempt, 30 minutes in length.
A series of questions are generated beforehand and posted throughout the chat by the moderator. To keep things orderly: when you respond, simply add A1: (answer to question #1) to keep things organized. Use A2: etc. for corresponding questions. We will probably only have three or four questions for the evening to keep things brief.
How to Follow the Conversation.
Following the conversations.
You can simply click on the hashtag (#dsd2chat) on a tweet to see all of the recent tweets around that hashtag. If you try to follow the chat from your own timeline on the Twitter web site you can, but if it’s a big chat you can quickly lose the thread of the conversation. Fortunately there are a number of sites that allow you to follow the chat only and participate more easily.
TweetChat is a great tool to use when you participate in a tweet chat. Log in with your Twitter handle, enter the hashtag of the event, and TweetChat will pull up all the related messages so you can follow the conversation.
It will automatically add the hashtag to your tweets, so you don’t have to remember to do it yourself. You can connect using the link below.
