Davenport's Weekly Update
Week of November 28th, 2021
MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Greetings Davenport Families,
"Live every second, every minute, every day and every week of December as if it is your last one". Unknown
Welcome to December! We have 28 more days until the New Year! Let's continue to push through... no need for resolutions when we can make the change now!
Parents please be reminded of the following:
- Health Affirmation documents should be submitted as soon a possible.
- Please continue to remind your child to properly wear the mask, over the nose and mouth, while on the school bus and in school. We will continue to do the same as well. Thank you for your support!
- Please refer to the letter below regarding sending in food items for classroom parties.
- The Winter Concert is quickly approaching. Be reminded that only two guests will be permitted to attend. You MUST have the ticket provided to enter the show.
Thank you!
Have a great weekend!

Holiday Party Update For Parents
Dear Parents/Guardians,
By now, you should have received your invitation and tickets for our upcoming holiday concerts for students Kindergarten-3rd Grade. We really look forward to welcoming you back into the school for an event that will be enjoyable while still being safe, as we continue to navigate this ongoing pandemic one day at a time. We want nothing more than for your child(ren)’s school experience to be as normal as possible, with fun memories of the holidays at school, which will now include being able to see their families here again.
Unfortunately, due to social distancing in our classrooms, many of them with over 20 students, we cannot safely invite our parents into the classrooms for holiday parties. It also does not seem fair to invite just a few parents in when so many people are anxious to attend. However, in an effort to work toward normalcy, we have figured out a way to safely have food sent in for the holidays. We worked with our School Nurses to compile a list of approved snacks. The reason for this particular list is because all of these items are safe for our many students with allergies. It is limited because we need this to be a manageable process for our teachers.
We do not want to have our snacks going through our nurses for screening, as they are very busy this year as they continue to handle Covid management. The idea is that teachers will have this same list and when they see that an item on this list is sent in, they will automatically know it is safe for all of their students. Any food items not on this list will be returned home with your student. Students will be having their classroom celebrations on Thursday, December 23rd . Please feel free to send in snacks prior to, or on, this date. You are also welcome to send in “goody bags” for the class that include nonfood items or the same snacks from below. We truly appreciate your patience, and for working with us, as we continue to keep our students safe at school, while still trying to make it fun and memorable. Should you have any questions or concerns, like always, do not hesitate to reach out.

Respect The Bus Winners!
Every week each Davenport Bus driver selects one or two students that are doing an outstanding job while riding the bus to and from school. The students names are then put into a pile and two lucky winner's names are pulled to receive a prize from our Renaissance Team Advisors. Last week's winners are seen below.
