Pratt's Primary Corner
Weekly Update- April 5, 2019
Week at a Glance
Math- We finished up unit 5 this week, with area. Students had some great discoveries about the area of irregular shapes and finding missing side lengths. We will take a math test next week. I have to give a growth assessment on Monday so I plan to wait until the end of the week to give the unit 5 assessment.
Science/Social Studies- We've spent this week finishing up our food insecurity prototypes. Students used the design cycle to improve their designs and are prepared to answer questions about it.
Writing- We're still trucking along in our opinion unit. We've learned how to create an outline to help us plan our thoughts before writing. Students also used a writing rubric to set goals- most of them are working on their "craft," and would like to add more descriptive words to their writing.
