Note from the Principal
Dear Boeckman Creek Families,
I hope you had a wonderful holiday, and were able to spend time with your beautiful children, and rejuvenate over the break. I was able to read a great book, go for several walks~ in the rain and shine, experience the joy of Christmas morning through the eyes of my 2 year old grandson, take naps, cook dinner, and reflect on the most unusual year ever... it was a good break!
Teachers have planned and prepared for welcoming students back to school, and the classrooms that I have had the opportunity to visit have been bustling with good conversation and enthusiasm for learning together.
You may be wondering about the implications of Governor Brown's announcement regarding schools reopening, and a shift in the guidelines to return to school. Dr. Ludwig sent a community message last week explaining our district transition plan for a safe return to in-person learning. Fortunately, we have been planning and preparing for in person learning since the summer. I look forward to reviewing our existing work, and making additions and/or adjustments as needed to ensure a safe return. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or if I can support you in any way.
Cheers to 2021!

Remember to report absences
Even while students learn at home remotely either in Comprehensive Distance Learning or through the K12 Online Program, regular and authentic engagement remains important. We know that regular engagement can be challenging in a remote learning environment. That being said, we care very much that students continue to regularly participate in their classes in whatever schedule or routine your student and family have created this year.
If your student is going to miss a class or activity, it is important to inform the school office ahead of time when possible. Parents can do this by using ParentVUE, by calling the school office at (503) 673-7750 or by emailing laschobs@wlwv.k12.or.us. Students in the K12 Online Program should also use ParentVUE or alert their teacher and program director if there are going to be any changes in a student’s engagement.
Meal Delivery
Families who signed up for the district’s meal delivery service should have received a confirmation email including their delivery day and schedule. If you signed up for meal delivery and did not receive a confirmation email with your delivery schedule information, please call 503-673-7995.
As a reminder, a family must reapply for Free and Reduced Meals each year. Here is the link to reapply or to apply if you think your family might be eligible.
