The Weekly Jr. Oiler

January 12, 2018

Happy New Year

Happy New Year to all our Jr. Oilers! We hope that you had a wonderful and restful break with family and friends. We look forward to a successful and fun second half of the school year.

HBHS APA Applications and Auditions

It's already that time of year for our 8th Grade students to start thinking about their high school path. As many of our students are part of APA Jr., a natural path is to audition for APA at Huntington Beach High School. APA begins their audition workshops this weekend and the applications are due January 26. APA Jr. is not a requirement for applying for APA.

Please visit the APA website or stop by our office for an application.

HBCSD Coding Competition

We are pleased to announce we have 335 participants in the Code Challenge! HBCSD students have already coded 58,900 total lines of code!

It is not too late to join the contest. We love the super-cute user names - but to be recognized and receive an award - we'll need your real name, school and grade as your user name. Please update by January 30th.

Sample: John Doe Dwyer 7, Susie Doe Peterson 2

The Code Challenge is a great way to turn screen time into skills time!
