Broccoli's scientific name is Brassica oleracea. It is a specialty crop. It's also native to Italy, and primarily grown in California. Since the Roman Empire, broccoli has been considered a uniquely valuable food. It was first introduced into the United States by immigrants from Italy in the 18th century. Broccoli is mostly used for humans to eat. Some sample products would be dry broccoli in soup, or pasta, ore en broccoli casserole.
Why broccoli is important
In my opinion, broccoli is important because it is used for a lot of recipes, and people eat it. It is also used for farming and crops.
