Week of 9/11

Make sure to watch our Flipagram this week!

Week Two

We had a busy week at Silverdale! Fifth grade students enjoyed the Ghost net program that UNCW brought to our campus on Wednesday. They had engaging lessons on the environmental impacts of ghost nets and they were able to get into a 54 foot whale.

Our first Parent Lighthouse meeting took place on Thursday and they are an eager group with lots of ideas for this school year! Please feel free to join us the first Thursday of every month at 5pm.

Third graders will take the Beginning of Grade test on Wednesday. This is similar to the EOG they will take at the end of the year. Please make sure they arrive at school on time (8:10) with a charged laptop, ready to go! We encourage them to eat breakfast that morning as well.

Help for Hurricane Harvey Victims

The Student Lighthouse Team is continuing our school-wide drive to raise $500 for Hurricane Harvey victims. In our first week we've raised over $200, way to go Leaders! Please continue to send in your donations and take them to the library. Our winning grade level will enjoy a dance party with administration.

Candyman Fundraiser

Our Candyman Fundraiser kickoff is on Tuesday. Please help us to reach out to families and friends in supporting Silverdale with this event. We use these proceeds to purchase instructional materials for our classrooms.

To stay current of all happenings, please "like" and follow our Facebook page and look for weekly newsletters from the school and our teachers.
