Welcome, Mrs. Karen Taylor !

Mrs. Taylor is our new first grade teacher. She graduated from ECU in December of 2014 with an Elementary Education degree and a concentration in Reading. Upon graduation she took a temporary position at HB Sugg Elementary teaching Kindergarten and First Grade Reading Remediation. After that she worked at Eastern Elementary in Washington for one year teaching 1st grade.

"I am so happy to be moving to a K-8 school where I can get to know my students and see them through their elementary years.

I have been married for 32 years to John Taylor and we live in Chocowinity with our 2 shepards, 6 cats, 2 horses and 6 chickens. My daughter Jessica just recently married and lives in Texas with her husband DJ and step daughter Rilynn. She works as a Federal Probation Officer. My son Zach is married and also lives in Texas. He and his wife, Bailey are currently serving in the US Air Force. They have 2 precious children, Noah and Grace and are expecting baby Claire the end of August. I enjoy gardening and spending time on the river."
