Superintendent Search Background
In collaboration with the search firm Hazard, Young, Attea & Associates (HYA) the school board launched a national search in January
More than 850 people completed a community survey that gathered information about the strengths and challenges in the district as well as ideas about the characteristics the community wanted to see in its next district leader
Thirty-three focus groups were conducted with students, staff, parents, and community members over a three week period in February
The information collected during the process was used to create the Leadership Profile Report that was presented to the School Board at a special meeting on February 28
Board President Jillian Barker is grateful for the input, “We would like to thank our students, staff, families, and community members for their input during this process.”
Interviews
Representatives from HYA recruited potential candidates and the School Board selected five to be interviewed in the first round
Two finalists were invited to participate in a second round interview that included a presentation and additional questions from the School Board
