Physical description
Amethyst is the most common gemstone. It is similar in color to the purple QUARTZ. The amethyst chemical formula is SiO2.
Jewlery use
The amethyst is heat treated to make theĀ purple color darker. The amethyst can also be a light green color known as Green Amethyst. Amethyst is used in necklaces, bracelets, earrings, ornaments, etc. The amethyst is common but also inexpensive. This gemstone is very valuable to collectors, traders, and jewlery makers.

This necklace has amethyst stone made with it. The jewler heat treated the stone to make the color darker and prettier. :)
