Update on 2023-24 Calendar Change Proposal
Thank you to staff members who provided feedback earlier this week regarding the potential change to the spring break dates during the 2023-24 school year. Based on the responses, there will be no changes to the spring break schedule. Spring break will remain April 1-5, 2024.
However, the District would still like to address the half day scheduled for the last day of school on Monday, June 3, 2024. In order to end the student school year on Friday, May 31, 2024 rather than the following Monday, it is proposed that the Professional Learning Day scheduled for Friday, May 24, 2024 will now be a regular school day. Teachers and Educational Assistants will not need to make up the PLD and their pay will not be affected with this change. Teachers and Educational Assistants will also each have the individual option of whether to work on their teacher prep day on Friday, September 1, 2023 or Monday, June 3, 2024. The Board will vote on this potential change at its meeting on Tuesday.
Below are links to the current calendar and the proposed calendar:

Annual Staff Survey Due May 18
All NJSD staff members should have received an email from "School Perceptions" for our 2022-23 NJSD staff survey. All employees are urged to complete the short survey by May 18. The email contained a unique code for each individual employee to complete the survey. The survey is being conducted by a third party in order to ensure anonymity. If you did not receive an email, please contact Jim Strick and a survey will be sent to you.
Sharing or Transferring Your Google Drive Files
Are you retiring or otherwise leaving the District? Would you like to share or take with you resources you have created in your Google Drive?
As the school year comes to an end, there have been a number of questions about sharing resources with colleagues or transferring them to a different account to take with you. The Technology Department has put together directions to walk you through the process of how to share resources if you are leaving the district, as well as how to use Google Takeout to take resources with you. All of this information can be found in the NJSD Tech Resource Hub in Canvas or by clicking on the following links:

Healthy You Update
Happy Teacher Appreciation Week! This week's focus is Sources of Strength. Learn more about which areas you have as a strength and which could use some strength training!
What are your Sources of Strength? At the high school we talk to students about how they can build up resilience on a daily basis by identifying and utilizing their “sources of strength”. The Sources of Strength Wheel divides into various resilience building components, including family support, positive friends, mentors, healthy activities, generosity, spirituality, physical health, and mental health. So, what are your Sources of Strength? Click here for a list and see which of these strengths are working well for you and which of these strengths you would like to strengthen for yourself.
