NO SCHOOL Nov. 23rd, 24th and 30th

Distance Learning begins December 1st

COVID Reporting During Distance Learning

The Farmington School District will continue to track confirmed cases of Covid19 in students and staff. It is important to call your student’s school, even when in Distance Learning if your student is diagnosed with Covid-19, has symptoms, or has been identified as a close contact.

We need our school community to work together to help stop the spread of Covid-19 in an effort to return students to in-person learning as soon as possible.

For information please go to the Minnesota Department of Health’s website.

Remain vigilant to reduce the spread of COVID-19

Please remember to wear your mask, practice social distancing, wash your hands, cover coughs/sneezes, and keep your contacts limited to those closest to you and your family. Routine healthcare visits, immunizations, and well-child visits continue to be essential during this time. Contact your child’s health office with any questions or concerns.

Food Service During Distance Learning

Dear Farmington Area Families:

Free Meals Continue throughout the 2020-2021 school year
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has extended flexibilities in its Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) and Seamless Summer Option (SSO) through June 30, 2021. This means it will waive all fees for school meals through the end of the 2020-2021 school year. The department previously extended free meals through December 2020, based on funding available at the time, but was able to extend throughout the entire 2020-2021 school year.

How will students get meals during distance learning?
Beginning Monday, November 23: daily meals (breakfast and lunch) for all ISD 192 students, regardless of their school of enrollment, may be picked up only at Akin Road Elementary or Boeckman Middle School. Instructions are below.

Picking up meals for the school day:

Beginning December 1, 2020: You may choose to continue with daily pick ups or you may choose to pick up meals (breakfast and lunch) for the entire school week at one time. Instructions are below.

Picking up meals for the school week:

  • Beginning Tuesday, December 1st, families can pick up a school week’s worth of boxed meals (breakfast and lunch) for their enrolled students.
  • Pick up for weekly boxes will be the first day of the school week (typically Mondays).
  • Regardless of your school of enrollment, weekly boxes will be available for pick up at Akin Road Elementary (door #1) between 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. OR at Boeckman Middle School (door #2) between 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. and between 4-6 p.m.
  • Pre-registration is required; you must complete a form for each student by the Friday before pick up. You can find the form on the Chartwells Food Service website by clicking the orange “Take Home Meals” button.
