Needing to see the school counselor?
Students needing to access the counselor's office can submit a form from their chrome books by clicking on the apps button. This form comes only to the counselor's. 6th graders will learn how to use this app on Tuesday, August 27th when counselors meet with them through their ELA classrooms. You can also ask your teacher for help. If you can't locate the form you can also shoot your school counselor an email. Obviously if there is an emergency, students will be sent to the Counselors Office immediately. This is just a great way to help students stay in the classroom for instruction time .
Here are a few ways you can reach out to us in the FMS Counseling Office:
Mrs. Horstmeier works with students with a last name starting with an A-J and can be reached at shorstmeier@fulton58.org and Mrs. Burfield works with students with a last name starting with a K-Z and can be reached at cburfield@fulton58.org.
Ms. Jo is the Counseling Office secretary and can be reached at jwilliamson@fulton58.org.
Counseling Office phone number is 573-590-8208

Journey to Success!
Beginning next week, we will post weekly assignments, instead of daily. Students will be given a question of the week that will be assigned on Monday and Wednesday, along with a choice board that will be posted on Monday that they can work on during that week. We LOVE to hear from our students and see how they are keeping active! Please send us photos on how you and your family are staying fit during this time! Also, share out to us your choice board options and how it went!
***Expectations for Digital PE Assignments:***
1. You have choices but ALWAYS get parent permission before doing the suggested activities.
2. NONE of these activities or assignments are required but we do need to hear back from students at least once each week.
3. Completing multiple assignments each week will earn you resiliency points and the possibility of leveling up if you are below proficient in some standards.
4. You may not have all the materials, equipment or skill necessary for all activities but you are welcome to make modifications as needed.
5. If you have any questions or need help please email a PE teacher.

News From (outside) the Art Room
Students, and Parents,
Several weeks ago, I sent out emails to all students with their code to our new google classroom. I hope my second email cleared up the confusion that this was meant only for Art students that have me all year and 3rd term only...
I have added week 2&3 to google classroom, as well as a form for students to fill out. This form is titled “How are you?” last week and this week I poste "Week 3 Check In"
I will have a check in once a week, and so far have been having a great turn out, and really enjoy hearing from all the students and seeing what they are working on.
The closing of school the rest of the year is no doubt hard, and I can't express how bummed and saddened I am by this. My main concern though is everyone's health, and safety, and hope everyone stays in high spirits and I know we will overcome this difficult time together.
I personally miss having conversations with your kids, and seeing their smiles. I miss hearing their laughs, and having conversations with them as well as working with them one on one, so, I thought each week I would throw out a new topic to get them writing a little something about what is going on in their worlds, and check up on them. They can share pics with me, or pics of what they are working on. They can always email me directly if they need anything.
Keep sending your images of what you are working on! I have been getting some awesome work from a lot of you all!
I will be adding the fourth week and beyond soon. Students can work at their own pace, and they can try any, or all of the activities I have provided. Of course they can go above and beyond, and use these ideas to create their own artistic spin on these lessons as well. These are lessons that are mostly left up to interpretation as I know materials as well as resources may be limited, but I hope this is where students can provide ingenuity, and flexibility to come up with their own ways of creative problem solving. The main goal is to provide them with enriching ideas to engage with, and perhaps give them a creative outlet during these new times we are in. I feel getting up and getting creative is a great therapeutic way not only to occupy time, but also allows our minds to be focused on creativity and a sense of pride in the creating process.
Remember to breathe, don’t get overwhelmed with stuff and feel like you have to do it all at once... with Art it could be your break from your other content areas and help get you through the boredom episodes.
Let me know if you need anything!
Please email me if you have any questions, or students please email me photos of your creations as well as your processes. Keep connecting!!!’ I love to hear from you all!
Thanks so much! Be safe, and be well!

I sure miss seeing you all at school! I hope you're doing well while we're on this long break from school. I'd love to hear from you. What are you all up to? What are you reading? I'd love to have you send me a book review of any books you've read while on this break. If you want to email it to me, make sure it's a video, 2 minutes or less, and you don't have to show your face if you don't want to. I will share it on our FMS Facebook page and the Library Instagram page. If you do not want me to share it on social media please say that in your email.
If you are needing more books to read, or activities to do, please check out these sites below:
