Principal's Corner - Mr. Jeffrey Cateon
Welcome to our newsletter. We will be sending this out to families digitally biweekly. Please be on the look out for classroom happenings, students photos and teaching/learning. You might even be able to see our School Mascot, Willow the Whale.
We had a very successful first week. I am so proud of our students and staff. Everyone following social distancing guidelines by washing hands, keeping 6 feet of distance and wearing masks keeps us all safe. Please continue to remind your children to follow these guidelines.
Please remember that our school day begins at 8:45 (doors open at 8:30) and ends at 3:20. There is not supervision of students before the day begins.
Kindergarten has half days on Monday and Tuesday. They will be dismissed at 12:25 PM. Lunch will not be served for kindergarten students those days.
We are expecting all students to be live on the screen at 9 AM in order to marked as present. Our afternoon meetings will take place at 2:45 PM for grades 1-4 and 1:45 for Kindergarten (starting Wednesday this week).
In order to accommodate families, we will allow Kindergarten/first grade student walkers to be dropped off and picked up based upon the direction of the school in which you are coming. If you are on the Riverbank side, you can drop off/pick up at the back of the school and if you are on the Watson Avenue side, you can drop off/pick up at the Kindergarten doors area.
Families can pick up free breakfast and lunch at AHS on Blue Pride Way (outside in front of the HS entrance) from 11:00AM-1:00PM each day. The bag includes a breakfast and lunch item. We are encouraging all families to fill out free/reduced lunch forms in order to ensure there is not a gap in January after the community feeding program ends on December 31, 2020. You can fill it out digitally here.
