DESIGN THINKING, PBL, & OTHER TINKERING V5.2
What to Expect
There'll be tons of stellar student work on display!
5th Grade Market Day:
This will start in the gallery and then continue into the library and d.lab spaces.
Lower & Middle School Projects:
These will be exhibited in the library/makerspace area, but will not be formally presented - it will be more akin to an open house.
8th Grade Science Demo:
Throughout the day, students will be sharing their go-kart/trebuchet project from Mr. Scallon's class.
The robotics team as well as the recreational robotics class will be in the d.lab to showcase their programming and engineering skills.
Special Guests & Activities:
Stop by the LGI (Large Group Instruction) area in the library to see local guest makers (see schedule below) as well as get some hands-on time with computer programming and STEAM robotics.
Next Stop: Austin Maker Faire!
A major element of project-base learning is providing students opportunities to showcase their work publicly, not just to their teachers and peers, but with real audiences.
With this in mind and as an added bonus, St. Gabriel's has been invited to share our student projects at the Austin Maker Faire!
