  • Be sure to give your teachers & counselors a 2 week notice when requesting recommendations & transcripts

Scholarships A-Z

AAUW- Lynchburg Branch- Scholarship

Deadline: April 1, 2016

Award: $2,500

Criteria: Female students attending an undergraduate four-year college or university as a full-time student should apply. An essay and TWO letters of recommendation are required.

American Fire Sprinkler Association

Deadline: April 6, 2016

Award: up to $10,000
Criteria: ANY interested senior should go online and read the Fire Sprinkler Safety Essay and then take an online, ten minute open book test. Essay, test, and details online at afsascholrship.org.

American Foreign Service Association Scholarship

Deadline: March 6, 2015

Award: $5,000

Criteria: Student must be a child of a Foreign Service employee and maintain a cumulative GPA of a 2.0.

The American Legion High School Oratorical Scholarship Program

This “Constitutional Speech Contest” aims to develop a deeper knowledge and appreciation of the Constitution of the USA. This program is open to all high and middle school students. Awards range from

$600-18,000. More details are available in the guidance office.

Ann Wilcox Memorial Scholarship

Deadline: April 1, 2016

Award: $1,500

Criteria: Several scholarships are being offered to area high school and college-bound persons who are planning a career in a health related field. A 500-word essay is required to answer questions about career plans.

Armenian Education Center Scholarship

Deadline: April 4, 2016

Award: $1,000

Criteria: Essay on the topic of the Armenian Genocide is required.

Aspiring Animation Professional Scholarship

Deadline: June 1, 2016

Award: $1,000

Criteria: Applicants must be interested in pursuing an animation career path at an accredited post-secondary school or college.

Aspiring Fashion Professional Scholarship

Deadline: June 1, 2016

Award: $1,000

Criteria: Applicants must be interested in pursuing a fashion degree at an accredited post-secondary school or college.

Aspiring Nurse Scholarship

Deadline: June 30, 2016.

Award: $1,000

Criteria: This scholarship is open to all high school seniors who plan to pursue college education in nursing, including LPN/LVN, ADN, and BSN programs. This scholarship to an aspiring nurse who best demonstrates a track record of academic excellence, particularly in science and mathematics and a passion for the nursing profession and the overall field of healthcare.

$Awareness Garden Foundation Scholarship

Deadline: March 4, 2016
Award: $2,500

Criteria: This scholarship is open to any student whose lives has been touch by cancer or who plans to pursue a career in the healthcare field.

Bernard Family Health & Wellness Scholarship

Deadline: April 30, 2016

Award: TBA

Criteria: Any senior who plans to pursue a health related career with a minimum GPA of 3.5 is invited to apply
