A Weekly Look at Grant Elementary School & the Grant PTA
Week of December 9, 2019
A Message From Principal Grey
Dear Grant Community,
We are honored and grateful that the Petaluma Education Foundation has given us the opportunity to make social-emotional curriculum a priority at Grant Elementary School and we can't wait to start using our new tools!
Sincerely,
Ms. Grey
Warmest Wishes from your Grant PTA
We'd like to extend wishes for a very happy holiday season to all our Grant families. Together, we are making Grant an amazing place for our children. We are so thankful for all the time our Grant parents and caregivers spend volunteering and for all the donations to fund programs that support our Shamrocks. It's been another successful year of advocating for Grant students and we look forward to a wonderful year in 2020! This month :
- Grant volunteers organized & are staffing our Holiday Shoppe which the kids love.
- We continue to fund classroom supplies
- We approved funding for Emergency Kit Bins for classrooms
- We approved additional funding for the school garden
- We approved funding for library supplies
- We approved the creation of a new school song to bring our message closer to our students.

Holiday Shoppe 12/10 –12/13
Day One of the Grant Holiday Gift Shoppe was a rousing success! Thank you to all our volunteers. Without you, this would not be possible. The Shoppe will be open through Friday, December 13th. Be sure to send your shopper to school with their list, addressed gift labels and money in their cash envelope. Gifts range in price this year from $1-$4. If your holiday shopper missed the class excursion or needs to pick up a few more items, the shoppe is open after school this week.
*There are still a couple volunteer spots open!
Grant Winter Music Assemblies Are Next Week!
Grant Cares, Donation Drive Underway
As the holidays approach, our Grant Community Cares Team is mindful of some of our own Grant families that could use some holiday cheer and assistance. We will be collecting items for some specific Grant families and their specific needs. This is a great way for our children to actively participate in the season of giving. Our “Giving Tree” will be set-up this week in the office. Please consider donating by taking an ornament with an item needed. Return the item with the ornament attached in the basket in the office by December 18th. Thank you for helping us bring holiday joy to our own Shamrock families in need!
