Summer School Dates and Information
Please call the office before 2:15, or send a note if your child's transportation in the afternoon will be different than usual. Please use the drop-off and pick-up located at the back of the building for students being brought to and picked up from school. There will be someone outside (dismissal) to call your student out when your reach the circle. Following this procedure helps to make arrival and dismissal run more smoothly. Arrival will be open from 7:50-8:00 only. If your child arrives before 7:50 you will need to drop them off at ATHENA.The outside door will lock at 8:00. If your child arrives after 8:00, please sign your child in at the Elementary Office.
Athena is available in the morning ($2.00) for parents needing to drop off their students early in order to get to work. Athena's summer hours are 6:30-6:00.
We want all students to have a fun experience at Summer School. As a reminder, students with perfect attendance (no time missed) will receive $75.00. Absences or leaving school early for any reason does affect attendance. Tardiness to school also affects attendance. Students may miss up to one day and receive $50, students missing no more than two days will earn $25.
To prevent sunburn, you may want to send sunscreen with your child, as students are outside 2-3 times throughout the day.
Students who are unable to follow our school expectations of being safe, responsible, and respectful during summer school risk being removed from Summer School.

Summer School Breakfast and Lunch Information
Safety and Health Items
- Each day upon arrival, students will be given a temperature check. Any student who has a fever of 100 degrees or higher will need to be picked up in the nurses office. Students who have a fever, must be fever free for 72 hours prior to returning to school.
- Some students or parents may choose to have their child wear masks, but they will NOT be REQUIRED. **If you would like to have your child wear a mask during school, please email me at acampbell@midbuchanan.k12.mo.us.
- Teachers will be asked to encourage students practice social distancing throughout the day.
- Bathroom breaks will be limited to THREE students in at a time!
- Frequent hand washing will be a MUST here at school! Hand sanitizer will be available for those other times.
- We would ask that students bring a CLEARLY MARKED water bottle to school. They will be allowed to refill these at the water filling station as needed.
- School supplies will be provided. If you prefer your students has their own supplies, please send them with their own!! We will continually be cleaning items during the day.
- Scissors, glue stick, crayons/markers, pencils, pens would be supplies that students would need during summer school. Please send them in an art box with your child's name.
- All visitors and presenters will enter through the office and have temperature checks.
