Mark your calendars for Parent-Teacher Conferences coming up on Wednesday, October 14 and Thursday, October 15 from 4:15 pm--8:00 pm both evenings.

Conferences will be virtual this year (on Zoom) due to health and safety guidelines. You will be able to sign up for a time that works for you to meet with your student's teachers. More details coming soon.


Also, keep in mind that we do not have school on Friday, October 9 for a teacher prep and plan day, as well as Friday, October 16th for conferences comp day.

Student Progress While Out of School

Now that we have nearly made it to October, we want to make sure that students are keeping up when they are out. While our school has only been impacted by one positive COVID case, many students have been out during recent weeks due to illness and other reasons. While students are home for any reason, it is VERY IMPORTANT that they keep up with their school work. Teachers have made many changes to their classroom structures to ensure that students can keep up while out of school--please have your student check the Google Classroom in order to keep up with missing work.

Teachers are noticing an uptick of missing assignments, and when students are gone for more than a day or two, these assignments are not getting made up. Teachers are eager to support students while they are out and make sure students are keeping up with the learning.

Quarter One grades are finalized on October 23rd.


Please make sure your student is in touch with his/her teachers when they are out of school.

Our EMS Leadership Student Council has been running a Rock...Paper...Scissors Tournament and the winner gets a $30 Chick-Fil-A gift card.

We can still have fun and be socially distanced!

This event was created to keep you and your family safe. Only 20 people granted admission per session, with thorough cleaning in between sessions. Masks and temp checks required. If you are sick, please stay home!

FREE Covid Testing Sites

If you or your family members are in need of free COVID testing, follow this link for more information. People who take advantage of these tests do not need to be Denver residents.

In the Pirate's Cove parking lot, free testing is available on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Testing requires pre-registration.

Ms. Stephanie Matthews

I started working at EMS in January 2020, but I have been part of the Englewood community for 17 years. Both of my kids have been through Englewood schools since ECE - one was class of 2019, the other is class of 2023. I am the Affective Needs para, and I love it. I think it is important to remind kids that they matter, they have hope for the future, and they can still make good choices; especially the kids who don't get to hear those things often. That is why I love my job. I get to be one of those voices, and part of a great team!

We will continue to develop plans for the 20-21 school year with guidance from CDPHE, Tri-County Health, CDE, and the governor's office. Recommendations change daily, and our plan will be flexible and responsive to the changing guidance.

When is it safe to be in-person or remote? (click here)

Englewood Schools uses four metrics (with Arapahoe County data) to determine if we must shift from In-Person learning to Remote learning. These metrics are based on science, facts and the best interests of our students and staff.
