If your child is performing they will be performing during 2 sessions. The exact time is unknown, but the session times are 8:20-9:00 and 9:15-9:55. You may attend one or both!

This week in reading we will identify moral lessons as themes in well-known fables, legends, myths, or stories. An example of a theme that we might come across is 'hard work pays off".

In Writing the students are starting to write their own persuasive letter. They will have to give one reason and 3 supporting details. Also, students will learn how to use persuasive phrases correctly.

In Word Work the students will be working on contractions. The students will focus on contractions with the words am, is, not, are. The Word Wall words are can't, I'm, won't.

We are finishing up some lessons on measuring area and perimeter and also using feet and yards to measure longer lengths. Then we will begin to understand the foundation of multiplication as equal groups put together and division as equal groups taken apart. We will work on this throughout the rest of the year.

Science/Social Studies

In Science we are learning about plants. We will learn about their needs and characteristics. We will also observe what will happen to plants when we take away some of their needs.
