Looking for a Job?
It is a good time to be looking for a job. Be aware that many jobs a seasonal right now, but if you show them how dependable, courteous to customers and staff, and that you are willing to learn, they may keep you on after the summer break.
A few tips-
- I search the SnagaJob.com website. They focus on hourly jobs.
- Type up a simple resume outlining your education, jobs, and volunteering you have done. Include your name, birth date, address, and phone number. You can find resume outlines on google docs.
- After applying online go to the job location and ask for the manager. Look the manager in the eye, shake their hand as you introduce yourself. Ask if they have any questions, and leave the resume with them. They may tell you to apply online- which you can reply that you have, but you wanted to add the personal touch and see if they have any questions. Now your face and personality are connected to the application.
- Take my Job Skills Training course and I can write you a letter of recommendation. This looks good on applications and with your resume. Notify me when you complete it and I will send a letter of recommendation to you as an email document.
- I add to my Jobs List as I have time or if someone sends a job suggestion. You can look here, but honestly, I do my research online or as I am out in the community.
- Job Genius has great tips on interviewing, I suggest you watch the well-done video.
