Principal's Message π
Dear Parents and Families,
We will be beginning March with our Read Across America Literacy Spirit week. You can learn all about our events and activities in the flyer below. We have also embarked on our assessment season as we will be conducting the ELPAC this month. We have over 250 students that will be participating in this assessment and you will be receiving a notice from your child's teacher regarding when, and if, your child will be taking this exam. Beginning the 20th of March, we will also have parent conferences and early dismissal throughout the week. You will receive notices from teachers regarding when you are scheduled to participate in the parent conferences and a reminder notice from the office of our early dismissal schedule throughout the week (1:30 P.M. dismissal all week long).
I would also like to thank you for working with us on rainy days and arriving on time during dismissal to pick up students. The staggered dismissal schedule only works if you arrive on time in the provided locations. You can see the Rainy Day Staggered Dismissal Schedule below. Remember, we only follow this schedule if it is raining during dismissal time.
The emotional well-being of our students extends beyond the classroom and into the entire school. Our site therapist and student support team are committed to promoting and explicitly teaching healthy social and emotional development, identifying and monitoring students at risk of experiencing mental health problems, and intervening early and appropriately. As a school, we are focusing on Self-Efficacy to help our students develop the idea that they can succeed if they believe in themselves. You can help us at home by providing students with positive praise, affirmation of their work, and encouraging them to try their best in all academic areas. Together, we can support our students at home and in school and encourage them to be successful daily.
In Partnership
Dr. Cortez, Principal
