MISSION: IGNITING A PASSION FOR LEARNING
Message from the Principal
We hope that all of your are wrapping up a wonderful spring break. As always, we tend to accelerate toward the end of the year as the calendar flips to April... fasten your seatbelts!
We closed March with two outstanding opportunities for our sophomores and juniors. Representatives from local businesses and post secondary institutions were on hand to shed some light on opportunities for ours students within their career pathways. My thanks to all students and staff involved in these great opportunities.
Our juniors completed the ACT in early March, however the assessment season continues well into April. Next up is the Forward Test for all sophomores on April 12 and 13, and the Aspire Test for all freshmen and sophomores April 27 and 28. These tests are critical for our students - and are a key indicator on our school report card. Please reference the schedule impact for all students below:
Forward Test - April 12 and 13
- Morning 30 is extended until 8:35 for testing (Late Arrival students should report at that time - all other students are to report at the normal 7:35 start time)
Aspire Test - April 27 and 28
- Freshmen and sophomores report at normal 7:35 time for testing
- Juniors and seniors report at 10:35
- Note: Juniors and seniors that need to report at 7:35 due to busing or transportation needs will be able to have quiet study in the cafeteria
All of our spring sports are off and running - though Mother Nature tends to determine much of our outdoor activity. Be sure to check our athletics calendar to be part of our events - especially as the weather warms up a bit. Additionally, spring concert season is right around the corner as well.
Please follow our announcements, webpage, and district Facebook page for all of our happenings and celebrations. Great things are happening at KHS!
Be well,
Scott Stier - KHS Principal

Elementary Transition Update
Last Friday KES families who will be placed at FES next year were notified. We are working on creating some transition events between now and the end of the school year to help students who will be moving schools as smoothly and successfully as possible. Parents have the option to submit an intradistrict transfer request by May 6. Parents will be notified if their requests will be honored by June 10. Staff who will be transitioning to a new building because of the closure of the i4Learning building have been notified of their preliminary assignment for next year as well.
We continue to update our FAQ as new questions arise. We are also still accepting closed offers for the i4Learning building. At the May Board meeting, there will be a closed session where the Board and their legal counsel will review the offers.
