Daily Announcements, Tuesday, December 8th, A Day for Group 1
Written announcements:
Carl Ben Eielson PTA is having a meeting on Tuesday, December 8th at 8pm via Zoom featuring an update from Principal Larson. All are welcome to attend (Zoom Meeting:931 6444 3776 Passcode: 854473). To make this year a success, we NEED your support. CBE elected to not have their team fundraisers and the PTA would like to donate to each team for activities held later this year. Donations and/or membership dues can be paid online via SchoolPay (https://www.schoolpay.com/pay/for/PTA-Membership/Md3z).
Students, are you interested in the arts? We are moving forward with the Reflections program. For more information checkout https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IX-rzWHnY5Q. We'll have entry forms available mid-December.
2020 is a year that you will tell people “you had to be there” to remember. What better way to remember than a yearbook! Your advisory teacher has yearbook slips for you. You can order a yearbook online or bring the slip back to the office with cash or a check. Email Mr. Finton with questions, or if you have pictures that you want in the yearbook, email Mr. Finton! We are going to have a “Quaran-teen” section, so send in photos of yourself at home, on the bus with a mask, socially-distancing with friends, or any other ideas you have. His email is fintonc@fargoschools.org.
It is time to resume our preparations for this year’s 7th / 8th grade musical revue called “Face the Music”. This will be different than a normal musical show, but it will still be A LOT of fun. We will need both singing and non-singing actors, show hosts, and a few stagehands to help with this production. Our interest meetings will take place next week on the 9th and 10th of December. It will be located in the Hangar at 3:30PM after school lets out. There will be more information given at the meetings. Please come on the 9th if you are in the Red group, and the 10th if you are in the Yellow group. Virtual academy students who are interested should attend the meeting for the group they would be in based on their last name. If you are unable to attend the interest meetings you must reach out to Mr. Nielsen by email.
Only two more weeks left for the Pop Open a Good Book Reading Program and the chance for you to win some popcorn and prizes. Your reading logs need to be in by December 18th. If you are headed to the library you may be interested in checking out our Science Fiction genre which is our highlighted genre for this week.. This genre involves elements of science and technology as the basis for conflict or as a setting. Time travel may be a possibility, or maybe a new world or an alternate world are created. Dystopia which is an imperfect or dysfunctional world is included in this genre as well. Check out the Crazy House Series, the always popular Hunger Games, and Bloom.
Happy Birthday to: Yusuf A., Louie S.
