PARENT/FAMILY NEWSLETTER DECEMBER 4, 2022-ISSUE #16
Good Afternoon Cub Families!
It was great to see everyone come back from Thanksgiving ready to work hard and have some fun over the three weeks between Thanksgiving and the Christmas holiday break. Second quarter interim reports went home with students on Friday. Please make sure you review your student's reports, sign, and return them on Monday. If you have any questions about your student's academic progress, please contact his/her teacher. If you did not meet during Fall Conferences in November, please reach out to schedule one.
On Saturday, several Clear View students joined elementary students from throughout Onslow County for the Elementary Honors Holiday Concert! We will share pictures next week! We are so proud of our Cubs and appreciate our amazing Music teacher, Mrs. Howard, who has worked preparing these students for the concert.
This week we begin our Apex Fundraiser. You may have heard of this as the "Fun Run'. We are doing a wonderful program, but instead of the Run, we will be doing a Neon/Glo Remix, that will be held indoors on December 15th. The Remix will include exercises, dance moves and movement. Information will be coming home from your child's teacher and will be sent out through the newsletter and other school communication. There is information below and a short video. Please take a moment to look at it and be ready to get "hyped up" with us!!
This week is also the first of our two Themed Weeks. This week is National Inclusive Schools Week. The focus is recognizing that everyone comes to school with different needs. Our amazing Exceptional Children's Team has developed read alouds, morning meeting ideas, and displays to incorporate as well as fun dress up opportunities for each day. Themes for each day are as follows:
- MONDAY - Be Anything You Want to Be Day - Dress as your Favorite Book Character
- TUESDAY - Be Comfortable in Who You Are Day - Wear your Comfy Pajamas
- WEDNESDAY - You Are Unique Day - Wear Wacky Outfits or Mismatched Clothing
- THURSDAY - We are All on the Same Team Day - Wear your CUBS colors (blue and orange) or CUBS gear.
- FRIDAY - Kaleidescope Day - Wear the Color Assigned to your Grade Level
- Kindergarten - Purple
- First Grade - Red
- Second Grade - Green
- Third Grade - Blue
- Fourth Grade - Yellow
- Fifth Grade - Orange
This week we are also holding our first Food Drive to benefit the Onslow County Christmas Cheer program. The flyer has been sent home and is also posted below. We will be sponsoring a Pizza Party for the class in K-2 and the class in 3-5 that collects the largest amount! We will be delivering our collected goods to Christmas Cheer on Friday afternoon.
Thank you for your continued support of Clear View Elementary. Have a great week!!
