A MESSAGE FROM MR. WEBB
Dear Parents,
This message serves as a reminder that our Board of Trustees called for a bond election that will be held on November 3. The bond package, totaling $52.9 million, recommends improvements at each campus that will provide additional capacity for our growing enrollment, increased academic opportunities for our students, and renovations to address aging conditions.
You will see the bond proposal submitted as three separate propositions on the ballot:
• Proposition A, totaling $44,330,000, would allow for the renovation, improvement and expansion of facilities at the elementary, middle and high school, technology for security purposes, and the purchase of land for future school sites. Proposition A will touch every campus in LVISD.
• Proposition B, in the amount of $3,450,000, would provide a transportation center/bus barn, allowing the ability for on-site maintenance, and would also provide overflow parking for the elementary school.
• Proposition C, in the amount of $5,130,000, would allow for expansion of the stadium, fieldhouse, and restroom facilities, provide additional parking (including handicapped accessible) and add a pedestrian entry.
We encourage you to learn more about the impact this bond proposal has on our students, facilities and the programs that we can offer, and we encourage you to exercise your right to vote.
Early voting has been extended this year and is available through October 30. In Lago Vista, you can vote early at Rolling Hills Community Church @ 6201 Lohman Ford Road from 7am-7pm Monday-Saturday and 12pm-6pm on Sunday. Election Day is November 3.
Sincerely,
Darren Webb

“Thanks”giving Treats for Teachers
One of the most wonderful Lago Vista traditions our school teachers and staff love and look forward to each year is getting Thanksgiving treats from the community.
Please sign up to bring a goody and support our education community. Due to COVID concerns, we do ask this year that all treats are either Store Bought or Commercially Prepared. Thank you for all your help!
Kids are TARDY if they are not in the classroom at 7:40
Please help us make sure your child is in your classroom by 7:40. Tardies are given if your child doesn't make it to his/her classroom by 7:40. After three tardies, a lunch detention or after school detention is assigned. We remind your child to:
1. Set an alarm
2. Lay out clothes and backpacks ready the night before
3. Allow time for breakfast at home or school
Thanks for your help!
ATTENDANCE MATTERS
The vast majority of our students with excessive absences fail to pass their classes. Students need to be at school or actively participate in virtual class everyday.
Our school wide attendance goal for this year is 98%.
For students who miss school, here is some very important attendance information:
- 3 or more unexcused absences in a 4 week period - warning letter sent home and phone call from the principal.
- 7 or more unexcused absences in a 6-month period - warning letter sent home and Behavior Intervention Plan meeting called with the parents, student, and assistant principal.
- 10 or more unexcused absences in a 6 month period - truancy charges are filed. Parent, student and school administrator will be summoned to appear in truancy court.
Our campus goal is to reach 98% attendance each day.
Thanks for your support!
Attendance This Week
Fourth Grade 97.80%
Fifth Grade 96.92%
Total Attendace 97.35%
Attention Bus Riders
As you know, students moving between face-to-face and remote instruction is to be expected this year. The number of students riding our bus routes not only changes each 9 weeks, due to required periods of isolation and quarantine, ridership changes from day to day. Although we are working to keep pickup and dropoff times as consistent as possible, we ask that parents please prepare for buses to arrive within a 10-15 minute window on either side of the established pickup/dropoff time.
For more information on transportation services, including how to look up your student's bus route information, please visit http://www.lagovistaisd.net/page/transportation.home.
As always, we appreciate your patience and flexibility as we work to meet the needs of our students and families!
