From the Principal
Hopefully this message finds you well and in good spirits. It was a productive week with engaging instruction and activities for scholars and some key moments. Longhorn Spirit Week presented a lot of fun for scholars and faculty as we joined in to wish our CHHS Longhorns well as they headed for the Championship game. Another key moment consisted of one of our 2nd grade scholars releasing his single "The Way I Do". We celebrate his huge accomplishment and the continued focus and consistency that he has as a scholar (see the links below to purchase and/or listen).
We are grateful that our All Pro Dad Chapter Leader, Mr. Ross, purchased a speaker and had it delivered to the campus so that we can continue the music playing during morning arrival. Speaking of deliveries... Last week, we kicked off a family engagement initiative that focuses on positive, quality time for families at home since we are encouraged to stay inside as much as possible. This initiative consists of people purchasing games/board games and having them delivered to our campus. Each week, we will have a drawing on Friday, and the scholar(s) selected will be able to come down to choose a game to take home and keep; OFLs who are selected will be notified directly so that they can arrange selection/pickup of a game. This week, James J. and Jayden H. were our winners. We hope their families enjoy the games and the quality time that comes along with playing them. You are encouraged to share the link on various social media platforms for your family/friends who would like to contribute; it is included below in the newsletter.
This upcoming week, Monday is the day that we honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., so there is no school. We will resume on Tuesday ready to make it a productive week of learning and engagement. Scholars are encouraged to dress in 1980s attire on Thursday and/or wear their Mavs t-shirts for our Dallas Mavericks assembly with their mascot; a link will be emailed for our online flex learners to participate.
