Lights. Camera. Action. MIC NETWORK IS ON THE AIR
The MIC Network capitalized on the football scrimmage last week by using it as a dress rehearsal to assist in training and educating the 2019 Media Team. Starting this evening, you will be able to stream live coverage of the Warren Central and Center Grove football game starting at 7:00 PM. Throughout the school year, the MIC Network covers 1 to 2 live Metropolitan Interscholastic Conference events every week. In addition to the live coverage, the network runs several stories about student athletes throughout the MIC Conference. Brigadier General Wallace (WCHS Alumni) speaks with students at WCC
Thank you to Warren Central Alum, Brigadier General Wallace of the 88th Readiness Division, for stopping by the Walker Career Center last Friday afternoon to talk with students about the power of STEM Education. Brigadier General Wallace was in Indianapolis for the President Harrison Wreath-Laying.
MOLD FREE BUILDING in CONSTRUCTION TRADES
Earlier this week, Schluter Systems, visited with our Construction Trades II program to educate students on the dangers of mold in a house, as well as the common installation errors that lead to mold growth. After the presentation, they provided a step by step demonstration on how to properly install the KERDI waterproofing system in a bathroom. Construction Trades is currently in year 2 of their 2 year House 29 build and will begin breaking ground on House 30 later this year.
SCRUB WEEK IS HERE!
This week was the first week that the Health Career programs began wearing their scrubs to school. Nothing better than not having to stress about what outfit you want to wear to school :) Both Dental Careers and Health Careers are Workforce Ready!
Johnson & Wales visits Culinary
The Culinary Arts I and II students have been working hard this week rotating through the kitchen stations to learn how to prepare food items on the Threshold menu. On Thursday, they were able to sit back and learn from Chef Austin who visited the class from Johnson & Wales University. The Threshold is set to open on Wednesday, September 4th.
CAREER AND COLLEGE FEST IS SET FOR NOVEMBER 13
Walker Career Center and Warren Central High School are excited to announce that the 2019 Career and College Fest will be held on Wednesday, November 13 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. Please contact Roschelle Bullard if you would like to secure a table for the event.
