Dear Forest Park Families,

Thank you for your continued support! We appreciate all that you have done throughout this school year to support your child and ensure that he or she is ready to learn each day.

We love to have opportunities to share all of the great things happening at Forest Park. We especially love to invite you to come to the school to see all of the great things that are happening but during the pandemic that has been difficult. We are very pleased to announce that on March 17th, we will invite families to come to school with their child for a "Student-Led Conference." March 17th is an Early Release Day, so we will invite you to come sometime between 1:15 and 3:45. Your child's teacher will send information about the event and will provide a time for you. We realize that this may be difficult for some families. Please know that we will make a way to have your child zoom in with you from class in the morning or record their conference if you are unavailable that afternoon. Due to the many hours teachers are putting into our new Science of Reading Training, we are not able to offer this as an afterschool event. Thank you for understanding and please let us know how we can accommodate.

Please continue to reach out to us with questions, concerns, or compliments! We love to hear from our families.

Sincerely,

Martha Motley

School begins at 8:20.

As a reminder, please make sure your student is dropped off prior to 8:20. If you arrive in the car rider line at 8:20 or after, you will need to come into the building to sign your child in.

Cell Phones

We are finding that some students are bringing cell phones to school. This can cause a disruption in the classroom and become a problem on the bus. Our Student/Parent Handbook addresses this. "It is recommended that students not bring phones or cellular watches to school. In the event you send your student to school with a phone or cellular watch, it should remain in their backpack for the duration of the day and while on the bus. In the event a student fails to adhere to this expectation, the phone/watch will be taken and a parent will be notified to retrieve the phone from the front office. In the event of a family or personal emergency where you need to speak with your student, please call the front office at 704-932-8121."

If your child does need to have a phone, please make sure that it is safely placed in his or her bookbag, turned off and that your child knows not to take it out on the school bus.

Thank you!
