Welcoming the New Year!

Big picture

After a break for the holidays, Goodness Grows jumped back into work on January 4, 2021. We kicked off the new year with cleaning and putting away the Christmas decorations as well as spending time outdoors. Winter days that still let us get out into nature are always appreciated! We are looking forward to many more good days for us all in this new year.

We Built a Bridge

Big picture

As a site for vocational habilitation, we spend a lot of time exploring and working on various projects to utilize a wide array of skills. Many of our clients love to use tools and build things. We are proud to show off a spiffy new bridge - our first bridge building experience - that we constructed in the woods. Our crew is not afraid of hard work and they did a great job working together, following tool safety, and thinking through problems. Go team!

CSA 2021: June - September

Now is the time to start thinking about the summer's bounty of fresh vegetables, herbs, and fruits! We've been planning for this year's CSA for months now and we're very excited for spring planting time. Miss Rachel and all the clients have been pouring through catalogs, checking out websites, and making lists. This year, we are planting some old favorites as well as trying soon-to-be-favorites. Even reading the names is exciting. Jedi Jalapenos, Hercules Carrots, Goldilocks Beans, Treasure Island Sweet Potatoes, Red Tabby Spinach, General Lee Cucumber...it sounds like we are setting off on a grand adventure! We invite you to join in the adventure by subscribing for a Weekly or Bi-Weekly Share. Check out all the info below and feel free to contact us anytime with questions.

Animal Care

Our crew loves animals of all shapes and sizes. Check out our current bunch of friends! Hunting for worms and insects for them, feeding them, learning about them, and taking care of them are important parts of our days at GG. It is a great responsibility to take care of another living creature and our folks are doing a great job.

Keeping Busy in the Winter

There is always something to do here to keep busy. This month we have had lots of fun crafting and decorating for Valentine's Day, working with dried herbs, making our organic catnip toys, cleaning, working on puzzles, and, of course, talking and laughing together. One of our talented clients who likes to use her extra time for crocheting even created a handmade toolbelt for one of her coworkers. Our crew has many talents and interests that we love to see on display.
