Albion Middle School Staff Bulletin
Addendum
Several additional items for Albion's Instructional Staff...
SLO post-assessment timelines: I have had some questions on timelines for post assessments in regards to SLO’s.
Year-Long Courses: The post-assessment for all year-long courses must be administered the week of April 11, 2016 (137-142 instructional days).
Semester Courses Options:
The post-assessment for all first semester courses only must be administered the week of December 14, 2015 (69-76 instructional days). The SLO does not need to be implemented second semester for courses that occur in both semesters.
The post-assessment for all second semester only courses must be administered the week of April 11, 2016 (63-68 instructional days).
For semester courses that run both semesters, the post-assessment for all first semester courses must be administered the week of December 7, 2015 (64-69 instructional days). The post-assessment for the second semester portion of the course must be administered the week of April 11, 2016 (63-68 instructional days).
Quarter Courses: The post-assessment for all quarter courses must be administered the week of December 14, 2015 (36-41 instructional days) and the week of March 7, 2016 (43-48 instructional days). The SLO does not need to be implemented for the first and fourth quarter.
Fallon Education Research:
Educational research completed by Fallon reports what the public views as important measures of school success. Click here to view the applicable slides. It is interesting to note where “state testing results” as a standalone measure rates throughout the various survey years.
Multiple Intelligence Survey:
As we know, many teachers run learning styles or MI surveys with students at the beginning of the year. Click here to see a quick MI inventory from Edutopia. Besides being brief, it give a nice report of your MI tendencies for all categories, rather than just stating your dominant category.
And something for everyone...
I think before we head into the shortened Thanksgiving week, it would be a good idea to convene for a staff meeting at "The 3 Spot" in North Royalton (same establishment as last time), at 3:30, Friday, November 20.
