EXCITING NEWS! World Language Content Demonstration Teacher Introduction

Congratulations, Stephanie Jackson who will be the World Language Content Demo Teacher for 22-23 and 23-24!

More about Stephanie and the WL Content Demo Teacher Role

Stephanie Jackson teaches at Whitman Middle School and has a background teaching a wide range of subjects including Spanish world language, Spanish Dual Language classes in Spanish Language Arts and social studies, and other subjects as well. Stephanie has taught in International Schools abroad and in other districts also. She is her in 3rd year in SPS and has also taught at Mercer International Middle School previously. Stephanie is excited to share her approaches to the world language classroom, coaching expertise, collaboration and many experiences with other world language educators.


The World Language Content Demonstration Teacher is a new stipend position that we received from the district and is in partnership with the Teacher Leadership Cadre. We will be developing out this position collaboratively in the coming months. This role will focus on supporting new world language teachers and also specific world language instructional projects. Avant ADVANCE ACTFL Standards Training

Read more here about this self-paced training available for clock hours. Interested? Send me an email. We have a few schools doing this training together as a focus of their PLC. I am in the process of finalizing licenses. If anyone else in interested please email by 12/16/22.


Organic World Language Wednesday Afternoon Trainings

This year we will once again offer Wednesday afternoon trainings with Organic World Language on Job-Alike Red Wednesdays. If you are interested please email tbwilliams@seattleshools.org so you can get the Outlook invite. Trainings are virtual. Dates are still being decided but will likely begin in January or February if there is enough interest.

Interested in hosting a testing date at your school? Please contact tbwilliams@seattleschools.org to discuss details and schedule a date for this fall or spring. Last year over 10 schools hosted site-based testing days. Thank you educators for leading this work!
