CSforAllPA Exemplary Educator Award Finalists
We are excited to announce finalists for the CSforAllPA Exemplary Educator Award, which recognizes outstanding K-12 computer science (CS) educators for their efforts to expand CS learning for all:
Heather Hedderman
Heather Hedderman (she/her) has been a librarian at Wattsburg Area School district for 15 years, where she provides STEAM education for students in kindergarten through 4th grade.
Jeffrey Wile
Jeffery Wile (he/him) has been in the Warwick School District since 2013, where he teaches several high school level CS courses. He is also the president of the CSTA Susquehanna Valley chapter.
Elizabeth Woods
Elizabeth Woods (she/her) has been in the Indiana Area School District for 8 years, and currently serves as the K-12 Gifted Support Coordinator. She provides CS instruction to students who receive enrichment in Science Technology and Engineering Education in the GIEPS and supports CS instruction for all Pre K-5 students.
The winner will be announced at the 2022 CSforAllPA Summit during the CSforAllPA Exemplary Educator Award Finalists Panel and Award Ceremony on Thursday, June 23.

School/District Teams: SCRIPT (CS strategic planning)
Dates vary; workshops hosted locally by IUs
Registration is now open for the new cohort (May, 2022- Dec, 2022)! The pathway is open to any PA 7-12 educators who will be soon teaching a CS course and are planning to take the 7-12 CS Praxis exam (5652) to get certified.
- 7-12 CS teachers, please share your plans for the exam and certification with the 7-12 CS Exam & Certification questionnaire.

Administrators: Leading the Charge (Act 45 / PIL)
If you are a school or district administrator who wants to learn more about how you can support CS teachers, or teachers integrating CS into their classes, be on the lookout for Cohort 2 of our PIL program, Leading the Charge: CS for School Administrators. 2022-2023 cohort dates and registration will be released soon.
IU TaC: CS Innovations
CS Innovations is a series of professional learning specifically for TAC to explore foundational CS concepts and practices with model activities and hands-on resources that remove barriers for students with disabilities. Please note: these sessions are only open to IU TaC. If you missed Session 1 in March, you can join us virtually Friday, May 13, from 1:00-4:00.
May 13: Session 1 - ½ day virtual session
- Registration closes May 5
- Only open to TaC who did not attend in-person on March 2.
Details and registration will be released soon for the remaining 2021-22 CS Innovations sessions. All in-person sessions held at PaTTAN Central.
- May 25: Session 2 - ½ day live with virtual option
- June 15: Session - Full-day live session, in-person only
- June 21: Special Session (optional) - ½ day live with virtual option
- August 10: Session 4 - ½ day live with virtual option
We realize not everyone will be able to attend summer dates, but don't worry! We’ll be scheduling dates for a fall cohort to offer additional opportunities for all four sessions.

Registration is open for the fifth annual Pennsylvania Computer Science For All (CSforAllPA) Summit, held June 22-23, 2022 at PaTTAN Harrisburg and online.
Remake Learning Days Across America
Remake Learning Days Across America (RLDAA) "is a celebration of innovative experiences and opportunities for youth to develop their sense of creativity, perseverance and curiosity." Every spring, regions across the country participate in RLDAA with festivals of events. All of the Pennsylvania regions are celebrating RLDAA May 12 - 23.

As part of RLDAA, we're hosting a special (virtual) CSforAll Monthly Meet-Up focused on preparing students for the workforce gaps in Pennsylvania. The CSinPA team will share general updates and timely information, but the bulk of the discussion is participation-driven, so come ready to share and learn about new ideas! Mark your calendar for May 18, 3:00 - 4:00 pm and register at Remake Learning and PaTTAN.
How does CSPG 71 impact you?
CSinPA 7-12 Toolkit Team
Middle and high school (7-12) computer science teachers are invited to contribute to a growing collection of CSinPA resources by joining the CSinPA 7-12 Toolkit Team. Teachers selected for the team will be compensated for their time and effort.
CSTA PA Chapter News
Basic membership in the Computer Science Teachers Association (CSTA) is FREE and educators may join multiple chapters (Pittsburgh, Susquehanna, Longwood, Philadelphia).
CSTA Pittsburgh recently held elections. Congratulations to the new president, Tamar McPherson (Plum Borough School District) and other elected officials: Vice President Jeffrey Patrick (Sewickley Academy), Treasurer: Danielle Lemmon (Karns City Area Schools), Secretary: Rebecca Gutosky (Canon-McMillan School District), Elementary Resource Officer: Kristen Golomb (Propel Schools), High School Resource Officer: Deborah Domingues-Murphy (City Charter High School), and Recruitment & Outreach Officer: Matthew Strine (Monessen City School District).
