Dear Everitt Families:
Incoming 6th-grade families, you likely had some friendly visitors this afternoon bringing you a package of information (and, most importantly, your student's schedule) and a yard sign. If you did not receive your schedule or sign, please reach out to us and let us know.
Our 7th grade dance was last night and a fun time was had by all! I don't know why, but middle schoolers really, really like musical chairs. You can see photos of the evening below. Thank you to our teacher and parent chaperones for making it a wonderful night for our 7th graders.
I promised photos from the actual musical last week and you can find them below. It was truly a wonderful performance and we are so proud of our musical theatre students, theatre guild students, and art students for their efforts in making it great! Thank you to Ms. Adducci, Ms. Woodbury, Mr. Leonard, Ms. Hays, and many others who helped our students create something that they should be very proud of!
Next week, we begin MAP testing. This assessment gives us and our students immediate feedback about how much they've grown this year. We look forward to sharing the results with you and to seeing how well our students do.
8th-grade families, there are so many fun and special events coming up for your children in May. Watch for further communication about the 8th-grade dance, the end-of-the-year field trip, and continuation.
This last week, our equity and culture task force looked at bias that occurs when analyzing data and then examined some student equity interview data that was taken earlier this semester as well as our most recent student survey data. We will meet again in two Thursdays to look at disaggregated discipline data. Please join us! We would love to think and plan with you.
Thank you for supporting and believing in your neighborhood school. It is our privilege to partner with you!

CELEBRATIONS!
Phoenix M. - Phoenix has been a wonderful addition to our Everitt community. Phoenix is thoughtful, reflective and cares about the wellbeing of others while also making sure to take care of herself.
Ashton W. - Ashton has drastically changed in his work ethic and attitude. He comes to class, has a positive attitude, and wants to do well in class and I think he will do great in high school!
A'Mya S. - A'Mya is a star in every possible way. She has single-handedly organized my library, spent time helping other students find solutions, and has invested serious time into getting her grades up after missing many of her classes. She is an incredible person who is going to go far in life!
Aria G. - Aria is a strong leader. I am very impressed with her music skills and the depth of knowledge that is shown in her work and performance. I am truly grateful for Aria what she has brought to the music room.
Payton K. - Payton faced a very uncomfortable disagreement with another 8th grader.
Mayli V. - Mayli was an amazing cast member who handled each change within the production calmly and professionally. I am so grateful she was in Seussical because she shines on stage while being respectful throughout rehearsals.
Jillian F. - Jill started here at Everitt a few weeks ago. Starting a new school in the middle of the year is not easy especially in middle school. Jill is working hard in her classes and fits right in here at Everitt. We are so happy you joined us!
Mya A. - Mya was always a strong leader in our cast but when things within the cast changed at the last minute, she handled everything with grace. I am grateful for your hard work and kindness throughout the show.
Gavin P. - Gavin came in to our class on his first day and jumped right in. He offered ideas and strategies while showing a willingness to work with others and help push his classmates thinking. I'm glad you are a part of our class, Gavin!
Della S. - Della, you took on a giant role in Seussical. Your portrayal of Gertrude was so sweet and your hard work to remember all your lines was impressive. I am so grateful for you and all the time you took to make your character shine!
Yaretzi R. - For speaking up for yourself and tell your truth.
Anakin S. - Anakin went climbing with Outdoor Leadership and he ROCKED it. He pushed himself to try hard climbs, cheered others on but also displayed an intense pride in himself and incredible effort! Way to go!
Santonio H. - Santonio is able to successfully juggle many commitments including gymnastics and school. He is responsible and stays on top of his work even with his unique schedule. He is able to do all of this while still keeping an unmatched sense of humor. He never fails to crack me up!
Miles W. - Having Miles the past two years, I have been lucky enough to see him completely come out of his shell. He never fails to make me laugh with his random comments or jokes.
Marley W. - Marley is always willing to share her thoughts or insights with the class which then leads to more meaningful discussions.
Liam M. - Liam is such a committed student. He is so invested in his classes and works so hard to make sure he is doing well.
JJ C. - JJ has been working so hard in ELA. He has this amazing ability to balance having fun, and joking around while still being responsible and getting all his work done.
Erin H. - Erin always seems to have a smile on her face. She is so kind to others and always willing to help anyone in need.
Armani G. - Over the past month Armani has been committed to improving his grades. He has put in the extra time even staying after school to make sure he is successful in ELA.
Chloe D. - Chloe has had good attendance lately and has shown an increase in class participation.
