The Paraguay national football team is controlled by the Paraguayan Football Association and represents Paraguay in men's international football competitions. The team has reached the second round of the World Cup on four occasions (in 1986, 1998, 2002and 2010). The 2010 trip also featured their first appearance in the quarterfinals.


1.Carnival-This incredibly festival multi-day event takes place at the same as in other countries such as Brazil. Although not as famous as Rio de Janeiro, a good time is still guaranteed.

2.New Year's Day-Paraguay celebrates the New Year just as the rest of the world, with all-night celebrations, fireworks and music. Asuncion is the best spot to catch the action.

3.Independence Day-All over the country, events are held to celebrate Paraguay’s independence from Spain with parades, concerts and fireworks.

The kind people

The Second National Indigenous Census, conducted in 2002, recording approximately 87,099 people, or 1.7% of the country's population, as being indigenous; however, as many as 95% of the Paraguay population is mestizo, that of partial Indian descent. Since the late 20th century, the indigenous population is growing faster than the rest of the population.
