Data Submission Due Date for Kindergarten- All kindergarten students should have been tested at the beginning of the year to assess their "Kindergarten Readiness". This Data must be uploaded into the ECDS System by January 30th. THE ECDS SYSTEM IS NOW OPEN AND READY TO ACCEPT DATA UPLOADS.

-FIRST GRADE DYSLEXIA SCREENING
All first-grade students must be screened for Dyslexia. Screening should be completed by January 31st. At this time, screening results should be documented and retained on campus for possible TEA compliance checks.
-PRE-K TEACHER CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS and REMINDER FOR PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT HOURS
Local Education Agencies (School Districts and Charter Schools) are required to employ prekindergarten teachers who are appropriately certified to teach prekindergarten AND
who have an additional qualification that is early childhood education specific. This usually requires additional Professional Development hours for these teachers. The following two documents provide clarification for this requirement. Document 1 / Document 2
STATE WAIVERS FOR FULL DAY PRE-K ARE NOW AVAILABLE
If your district has not yet implemented FULL DAY PRE-K, then a waiver must be submitted to the state. Please see this link for details: Pre-K Waiver
