Together We SOAR

FES Updates

Parents please look for any library books that may be at the home! We are missing an average of 15 books per grade level and need to have them found!

FES VISION

At FES, we will actively engage in a supportive, collaborative, and rigorous learning community that nurtures and builds a foundation for lifelong success.

Updates from the Nurse

* The end of the school year is quickly approaching! Please remember to pick up your child’s medication in the health office prior to the end of the school year unless your child is attending the summer program. The school is not able to allow your child to bring the medication home. Medication not picked up will be disposed of.

* If your child has medication prescribed to them to be administered at school, daily or as needed, a new medication form is required for next school year.

*Have a happy and healthy summer!

Attention 5th grade families.

WE STILL HAVE NUMEROUS Fifth grade FAMILIES THAT HAVE NOT PROVIDED PROOF OF RESIDENCY.

When transitioning to a new school, you are required to submit a current, valid proof of your residency in Caroline County. This is in support of Caroline County Public School enrollment procedures and Maryland Law. No student will receive a schedule not begin the school year at the new school until proof of residency is received and approved. THANK YOU TO ALL FAMILIES THAT PROVIDED PROOF OF RESIDENCY!

Picking up a student

If you are sending someone to pick up your child, please be sure that they are listed as an emergency contact in power school and that they have a picture id with them. This includes anyone coming through the car rider line as well. Your child's safety is of utmost importance! Please do not be offended if a staff member asks to see your ID.

Lost and Found items

If your child is missing a jacket or coat, hats, or gloves, please have your child check with the lost and found. We have a lot of items that need to find their owner.

Maryland Snap-Ed

Maryland Snap-Ed Program is providing a book and some fun activities for our students at school on June 7th! The book is called Sylvia's Spinach. Ms. Brooks is the project leader and will be providing books, book marks, incentive punch cards, and parents' letters to be sent home.

A copy of the book will be displayed in the cafeteria, and our librarian, Mrs. Simmons, will read the book to the students as they visit the library the week of distribution. There will also be a flat Sylvia art project that Mr. Lambert, the art teacher, might do with students that week. On the day of distribution, June 7th, we hope to have the cafeteria serve spinach on the line. The Sho Go Mobile (mobile farmers market) would like to set up nearby so parents picking up their children can shop at the market. Since it is too early to actually plant spinach, every student will receive a package of spinach seeds to plant this fall. We may even do a planting activity by grade in the gym if possible.
