#TogetherWeFly Update for Armstrong High School 1/22/2021
Mr. Norby's Update
Dear AHS Students and Families,
We are very excited that today closes out our semester 1 for the 2020-21 school year. Our students have worked extremely hard during this semester and are consistently adapting to our current circumstances, as we have had to make many changes this school year. With that being said, we are proud of all our students at AHS. Our teachers have worked around the clock teaching, grading, building relationships, and looking for ways to help all students earn their credits. We thank them for all their hard work in semester 1. We would like to thank you as parents for partnering with us at AHS, we know this has been a unique and challenging semester for parents as well.
With the close of semester 1 and semester 2 starting Tuesday, January 26th, we encourage you to spend sometime over the weekend with your students to discuss how semester 1 went and talk about the fresh start to semester 2. Ask your student what went well this semester, and what goals they might want to set, or how they can ask for help when they need assistance. We are asking all students in 9th-12th grade to check their Schoology account daily, as well as their school email. Your student can assist you, as a parent, and show you how they communicate with their teachers at AHS.
Once again we want to thank our students, teachers, staff, and our families for partnering with us here at AHS. We look forward to semester 2.
Have a safe, and restful weekend.

COVID-19 Reminders and Updates:
All families must use the self-screening tool before sending their students to school or school activities each day.
The threshold for sending students home due to illness this school year is lower than usual. Make a plan with family or friends regarding how your student will get home from school if they develop symptoms of illness during the school day. Students without vehicles at school will need to be picked up promptly and will remain in an illness isolation room until picked up.
Please check your contact information in Infinite Campus and make sure it is up to date. For any changes, contact 763-504-8806.
If a student or staff is identified by the Minnesota Department of Health as a close contact of someone with lab-confirmed COVID-19 while at an AHS activity, they will receive notification from the school and explanation of next steps.
If a student or staff is NOT identified as a close contact, but is in an AHS activity group or a classroom with someone who has lab-confirmed COVID-19, they will receive general notification that there was a case of COVID-19 reported in their activity group or classroom.
