Saudi Arabia is the largest country in the Arabian Peninsula. It is a quarter of the size of the United States and is the 12th largest country in the world. Most of the country is a vast rocky plain with rugged mountains. There are no major rivers or lakes and most of the land is desert including the largest desert in the world, Rub' al-Khali. Saudi Arabia's main export is oil followed by iron, copper, and gold.


Saudi dishes, which are normally spicy, and usually have lamb, chicken, and/or rice. Kabsah (rice and meat) is the most liked dish throughout the country. Islam is the main religion, 90% Sunni and 10% Shi'i. Many men and women wear traditional clothing including, a Thobe (ankle-length shirt, usually white, that covers long pants.)
