10th Grade Newsletter ~ March 15th

The Next Deadline Is March 28th

Grades Have Been Updated

Grades for this deadline have been updated. All work that was submitted by Friday, March 14th has been graded. Remember, work can be submitted late until Friday, March 21st. Work submitted from Saturday, March 15th - Monday, March17th will receive a 10% deduction. Each day after that, an extra 10% will be deducted from the grade that is earned on an assignment or quiz. However, a late grade is better than no grade. Just don't let finishing late work keep you from turning in current work on time!

A Note About Accommodations

Many students receive accommodations through GaVS. Please note that these newsletters (and grade update emails) go to all students. Likewise, failing phone calls go out to all students, regardless of accommodations. If you have a due date extension due to accommodations, zeros are entered and your grade replaces the zero when the work is submitted.

Class Announcements

If you see the image above in your "Grades" area, you have work missing from the 3/14 due date. Work from this period only may be submitted late until March 21st.

Teacher of the Year Nominations

Nominate the 2014 Georgia Virtual School Teacher of the Year

Each year, Georgia Virtual School recognizes one teacher who has excelled in his or her commitment and contribution to our students, school, and online education.

Students, parents, facilitators, teachers and staff will nominate for the ToTY between March 1 and March 31.

The GaVS Teacher of the Year will be announced at the Summer 2014 Professional Learning Symposium.

Your course home page has two course navigation videos, located at the top of the page. These include demonstrations of how to do various things in your course. You can also use the "Help" icon (on the top of your page). Click on the "FAQ" link on the left side of the help menu to find video demonstrations of tasks like: submitting dropbox assignments, completing quizzes, and participating in discussions. Please contact me if you have questions.

Parent Auditor Accounts
