Meeting the Needs of Our Students
The start of a new school year is always an exciting time, not only for students, but for families and staff as well, we are all ready to continue the important work of our school mission – "To develop every learner to the learner's maximum potential, to succeed and continue to learn in a changing world."
As we begin this year, we renew our focus on supporting the most critical factor impacting student achievement – the staff that work with students. In fact, Lester Prairie continues to be a leader in the our five county area for how we provide our students with strong relationships that continue after they leave our building.
The District will continue to invest in other areas that impact student learning as well. We strive to meet the needs of our students whether they are preschoolers or seniors. We look to continue to improve our teaching by encouraging advanced education and also our teacher observation model. We also look to continue to increase our technology usage and will work on providing a scope and sequence with our technology.
The District continues its’ focus on ensuring our facilities meet our student needs through the use of our Long Term Facilities Plan. As we look toward our operating levy renewal we will be providing as much information as possible to you and the community through various meetings.
I feel a renewed sense of excitement for the start of this school year because of the energy our students, staff, parents and community bring to our school community and all the possibilities that working together provide. Our district is fortunate to have an excellent blend of experienced staff who have worked in our district, experienced staff who are new to our district, and new staff to our district, who are also new to the teaching profession. Each staff member from the lunch room staff, the custodians, bus drivers, to teaching staff have a great amount of energy and love for the education of students and doing what is best for them. Our school district excels because of this collective effort, focus and commitment. I look forward to the work we will accomplish this year.
Mr. Schmidt
