Sophomores

The State of Pa. requires that all Juniors have a physical on file in the Health Office. As your student goes to the doctor for driver’s permits, working papers, etc., remember to turn in a copy of the physical. Physicals dated the first day of Sophomore year or later will be excepted as a Junior physical. If your child plays sports, this physical will count as well.

Juniors

Reminder that a physical is required for all Juniors. A meningitis vaccine is also required after your child’s 16th birthday and must be completed prior to entering 12th grade.

Central Bucks School District Veterans Recognition Project

If you or someone you know graduated or worked for the Central Bucks School District and served in the United States Armed Forces, consider registering for this very special program today. The mission of the Central Bucks School District Veterans Recognition Project is to honor the military service of all CBSD alumni and employees. The project committee is made up of Central Bucks students, veteran alumni, teachers, and administrators.

Thank you for joining us in our campaign to bring history to life for our students, and to honor all those who served in our CB community. Please visit the program website at https://www.cbsd.org/veterans.

Missed Picture Day?

If a student was unable to come to the scheduled Picture Days at West, there are two options:

  1. Do nothing - the photo studio will print a 2020-2021 ID using last year's photo.
  2. Make an appointment with the studio in Doylestown and have your picture taken.

For those purchasing a photo package who already had a picture taken: If the photo package information was not turned during the week of picture days, it's not too late! Please put order form, exact change or check made out to C & C Studios in an envelope and turn in to Mrs. Banks in the main office.

Attendance

We had reports that students are emailing teachers and counselors if they are staying home and/or switching placements from Hybrid to Online. We realize that it may seem easier (and appreciate our students being advocates and communicating) but in terms of attendance, here are the protocols we need to follow:

Hybrid Students - In Person Days

  • If a student should be physically present in the building but is staying home, we do need this communication to come from the parents or guardians. Please email our attendance office at westattendance@cbsd.org. At the school level, this is the same as if students were in the building in a traditional sense because anytime a student is supposed to be here physically but is not, an “excuse note” is needed. There are many reasons for this, which primarily fall under liability and safety, but it is also important for our state attendance records and the planning for teachers. If a student is not in school (but attending online) the initial absence code will be “absent” until we have a communication from parents. The attendance code will be changed to “VP = Virtual Present” once we have the communication from the parent/guardian. We do ask for the communication in advance of the absence so we can make sure the teachers are aware and it also ensures us that parents and guardians know that the student is at home and has permission.

Online Students - Students all Virtual or Hybrid Students on Virtual Days

  • If a student does not attend class, the student will be marked absent until we receive the communication from parents.
  • Note – If a student logs in initially, but leaves the call or does not engage, the teachers will mark the student absent with a comment so parents can see this information and reach out to us as needed.

Holiday Tree Sale

The CB West Band is selling Christmas trees. In order to ensure the safety of our patrons and our volunteers, we are doing all sales as pre-orders on our website: https://cbwestband.square.site. Tree pickup will be contactless and trees will be placed in pre-assigned parking spots in the stadium parking lot. We also offer several different types of wreaths and pine roping.

Antler Yearbook Information

Don't delay - last year we completely sold out of yearbooks - be sure to reserve your child's high school memories today! Yearbook page on West website

Good News from CB West Students

Congratulations, Ella

Congratulations to senior, Ella Cleary, for having her original One Act Play, Painting Hope, accepted for performance at the State Thespian Conference.

This year Pennsylvania Thespians invited students to write and submit a short play that could be performed virtually. Several were selected to be rehearsed, recorded and presented at the State conference. We are proud that Ella's was selected. The Harlequin Club will be performing Ella's play on Friday, December 4th during their "Evening of One Acts" at 7pm in the West Auditorium. In addition to writing the show, Ella also designed the cover art (see photo).
